Impaled on an iron rod!!
Case of a 36 year old man who came to the emergency room with an iron rod pierced through his abdomen.
The patient was a construction worker, working on a building when he slipped and fell directly on an iron rod. He was rushed to the hospital, where exploratory laparotomy was done. Luckily he sustained only grade 1 liver injury, with no other vital organ being injured. (Liver damage can be seen in third photo). (Grade 1 liver injury: subcapsular hematoma <10% surface area, parenchymal laceration <1 cm in depth).
